The Glenferness Experience

What to Expect at Glenferness Estate

Discover what makes a day with Robertson Sporting so special. From your first warm welcome to the last toast of the day, every detail is carefully considered – exceptional shooting, stunning landscapes, warm hospitality, and a deep respect for the land.

  • Where will I stay?

Glenferness Estate offers five beautifully renovated properties - from 1890s Norwegian-style chalets to traditional stone-built cottages. Most sit just a stone’s throw from the River Findhorn and the estate’s squash court.

  • What’s included on a typical shoot day?

Your day begins with a short welcome and elevenses in the field. Lunch is served in the charming “Garage” at Glenferness House, with light refreshments throughout the day and a toast to mark the end of the shoot.

  • What kind of birds and drives can I expect?

A variety of drives challenge every skill level, including high birds to test even the most experienced Guns. Walked-up, driven, and stalking days are available and fully adaptable to suit your party.

  • What makes the landscape special?

Steep banks, mature Scots pine, and ancient woodland shape the terrain, lifting birds high over Guns and providing both challenge and beauty in equal measure.

  • Are there conservation initiatives?

Absolutely. Glenferness is committed to sustainable land management, from deer control and biomass heating to tree planting and habitat regeneration - all part of preserving this landscape for generations to come.

  • How do I get there?

Glenferness is just 30 minutes from Inverness Airport, 25 minutes from Nairn, and 40 minutes from Aviemore. Transfers can be arranged upon request.
